Paleo Challenge


Dragons 33 Day Paleo Challenge
10th of October 2011 - 12th of November 2011

Goals- The goal of this challenge is to get our athletes thinking about making better nutritional choices and integrating the Paleo plan as part of a permanent lifestyle. It will give everyone the chance to experience how it can positively impact your overall energy level and your performance in the gym.

The Buy-in
            
£10 per person, Male and Female winners split the "pot"

  • Measurements will be taken Before & After
  • Before & After Pictures (taken by same sex and kept private)
  • 2 Personal goals that you want to reach during the challenge fitness and nutrition. Example: get unassisted pull-ups and prepare my food in the week.
  • Registration is open Until 5pm Monday the 10th of October

Prize- The greatest % improvement in your measurements, Before & After Pictures, and WOD.


Eat Real Food- Meat, Eggs, Vegetables, Nuts, Seeds, Fruit, and Oils (EVOO or Coconut)

Rules-
  1. No Processed Foods (Chewing gum, whey/soy protein shakes or bars)
  2. No Sugar (includes honey)
  3. No Grains
  4. No Legumes
  5. No Dairy
  6. No Alcohol
  7. No Starchy Vegetables or sweet fruits (white potatoes, sweet potatoes, bananas)



Points System-
 Each person will start with 7 points per day. Everytime you break one of the "Rules" you loose a point. Points need to be kept along with a daily food journal. Post your total points at the end of the each week to the blog. (If you do cheat, tell us what it was!)
Total of 231points possible.

Cheat Pot- Pay £1 for every cheat OR Run 1km or Row 1km.


                 Example: 1 Beer = £1 or 1km Run
                               2 Beers + 1 Chocolate = £3 or 3km Row

Example of a food journal-


Breakfast = bacon with scrambled eggs, black coffee
Lunch = chicken salad, apple, 1L water
Dinner = fish, with veggies, decaf coffee

Suggestions-
  • Get a food journal
  • Drink plenty of water
  • Get enough sleep
  • Take your fish oils
